WHAT IS MONOCHROMATIC THINKING:

Monochromatic thinking refers to a mindset or approach characterized by a narrow focus on a single perspective, idea, or solution. It’s akin to using only one color in a painting – limiting and lacking variation, in psychology and decision-making, monochromatic thinking can hinder creativity and problem-solving because it disregards alternative viewpoints or possibilities.

DIFFERENT WAYS OF DEVELOPING MONOCHROMATIC EFFECTS ON OUR EMOTIONS.

*COMMUNIOCATION GAP/ASSUMPTION THINKING.

A communication gap refers to a disconnect or failure in the exchange of information between parties with an organization (family members, coworkers, friends). This gap can occur at any point in the communication process, from the sender not conveying a message clearly to the receiver misunderstanding or not receiving the message at all.

WHAT IS ASSUMPTION THINKING IN THE REALTIONSHIPS?

  • A common pitfall in relationships is making assumptions about your partner’s thoughts, feelings, and motivations.
  • Assumptions in relationships include believing that your partner knows how you feel and misreading their body language, among others.
  • Couples can train themselves to notice when they are making assumptions and ask questions instead.

*SHOULD THINKING:

Why should thinking is DANGEROUS?

What comes to your mind when you hear the word “SHOULD”?

*OBLIGATION

*COMMOND

*AT YOUR SERVICE

*HAVE TO DO IT

“Should statements” are a type of cognitive distortion in which we make unrealistic or unfair demands of ourselves or others. These patterns of thinking can lead to negative emotions like quilt, shame, and anxiety. While they may initially help us cope with difficulty situations, over time, they can negatively impact our emotional well-being and relationships. It’s essential to reframe this statement and accept reality to reduce their harmful effects.

REPLACE SHOULD THINKING WITH “I WOULD LIKE TO” INSTEAD.

COMPOUND EFFECTS OF THINKING

What is compound effect:

It’s the idea that small, consistent changes can lead to significant results over time. This principle emphasizes that making small, smart choices consistently can yield radical differences.

Bottle water example.

GIGO EFFECTS: GARBAGE IN – GARBAGE OUT.

Negative thoughts can significantly impact our thinking and overall well-being. Here are some key points about the effects of negative thinking.

  1. NEGATIVITY BIAS: Our negative thoughts often carry more weight than positive ones. This bias can leave us feeling anxious, full of self-doubt, and unwilling to take chances.
  2. REAL-LIFE IMPACT: Negative thinking contributes to problems such as social anxiety, depression, stress, and low self-esteem.
  3. COGNITIVE DISTORTIONS: Negative thoughts patterns, known as cognitive distortions, can diminish motivation, lower self-esteem, and contribute to anxiety and depression.

Remember that understanding our thought patterns and using strategies to shift negative thinking can lead to better mental and emotional well-being.
